5th International Seminar of Doctoral Students: Challenges of History
On March 18 and 19, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m. (mainland Portugal time), the “5th International Seminar for Doctoral Students: Challenges in History” will be held.
The event will take place on the first day in the ICS Hall (building 15) and on the second day in the Amphitheatre of the School of Engineering 2 (building 16) on the Gualtar campus (Braga) of the University of Minho (UM).
This year’s edition will feature 22 papers by researchers from Portugal, Spain and Argentina debated in five sessions, which address historiographical issues related to health, otherness, power, work and family from the Middle Ages to the contemporary period.
The program also includes the inaugural lecture by Giorgio Riello (European University Institute of Florence, Italy), entitled “Factories and Fabrics: Indian Textile Production and European Industrialization”, and the closing lecture by Inês Amorim (University of Porto, Portugal), on “Environmental Changes – memory, history and future”.
