#OPEN CALL SUMMER SEASON 2024/2025

After the success of the last SHARE’s seasons, we are now opening the call for presentations for the summer season of this academic year 2024/25 (March to June).

 

To apply for this season, please make your intention to present by March 10th 2025, via email to share.eaad@gmail.com. You should select 3 available dates/blocks for presentation, in order of preference. Based on the proposals received, the committee will distribute the presentation intentions by blocks and create a calendar.

In this summer season we will have the opening session with Tiago Ascensão on March 14th 2025, one SHARE.Invite sessions on June 20th 2025, as well as a Lab2SHARE session on May 23th 2025.

 

 

About SHARE: Bi-monthly meetings of EAAD’s PhD students
The SHARE meetings are bi-monthly seminars held between doctoral students enrolled in the third cycle of the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho. In addition to being a moment of encounter between these students, the sessions give a doctoral student the opportunity to present and receive feedback and contributions on the progress of their research work.

 

Dates: Bi-monthly, Fridays from 12pm to 1pm. In exceptional cases the sessions can take place on another day at the same time (case of April 24, Thursday).

 

Venue: School of Architecture of the University of Minho, Azurém Campus. There will always be an online version via zoom.

 

Each session lasts 1 hour and is structured in three moments:
a) 10 minutes for each participant to introduce themselves and briefly explain in which stage of research they are at;
b) 15 minutes for the doctoral student to make a presentation on his/her work;
c) 35 minutes for reactions and debate.

 

Calendar:
Before the beginning of each semester, the organising committee releases by email a calendar with the blocks of sessions available. Doctoral students interested in presenting should send the committee their intention of presenting with the suggestion of 3 dates, in order of preference. Based on the proposals received, the committee will distribute the intentions to present by the blocks and create a calendar.
In case sessions remain unfilled, it is left open for those who want to invite someone external to make an open class or a presentation they consider pertinent to the group.

 

Communication:
Two weeks before each presentation the PhD student who is going to present is asked to send to the committee a title, an image, a short abstract (100 words) and a short-bio (50 words). This information will be used for internal dissemination of the sessions.
