Presentation and debate webinar
From exploratory projects to European projects: how to manage research agendas and transdisciplinary teams?
What are the challenges of a year-long transdisciplinary exploratory project? And how do you prepare and successfully execute a major European project? Come and discuss these topics with us next November 13th, from 2pm to 4pm, in a free access webinar with the participation of the four researchers responsible for the IN2PAST 2024/2025 exploratory projects, the winning researcher of two ERC Helena Machado and the coordinator of the Research Support Division (DAI) at NOVA FCSH, Marisa Borges.
From 3D modeling of a Romanesque chapel to the collaborative digital musealization of Kamayurá artifacts, passing through the role of endogenous clay in traditional ceramic production and the Musical Library of D. João IV in Vila Viçosa, four new exploratory projects bring together 32 researchers from the seven IN2PAST research units.
During the first hour of this webinar, researchers Fabio Sitzia (HERCULES – University of Évora) and Rodrigo Lacerda (CRIA – NOVA FCSH), and researchers Isabel Pires (CESEM – NOVA FCSH) and Mathilda Coutinho (HERCULES – UÉvora) will present the hypotheses and transdisciplinary research methodologies of the respective projects, highlighting the scientific contribution to be achieved and the research agenda proposed for IN2PAST.
The four responsible researchers also propose a reflection on the main challenges and benefits of building a multi/inter/transdisciplinary scientific agenda, exploring the opportunities and complexities of this collaborative approach during the definition of the team and the research agenda.
At 3pm, we invited Helena Machado (CRIA – Universidade do Minho / IN2PAST), winner of two grants from the European Research Council (ERC) – the last worth 2.46 million euros, to study the global impacts of facial recognition technologies – to share your experience in submitting and managing European projects, and multi/inter/transdisciplinary research teams and agendas.
For this conversation, which we believe can be enriched by, and enriching for, researchers from all areas of knowledge who lead, have led or intend to lead research projects, science managers and other audiences interested in issues of transdisciplinarity and of science based on research projects, we also count on the shares of Marisa Borges, coordinator of DAI – NOVA FCSH.
Participation via Zoom via the link tinyurl.com/webinar-in2past-13nov (registration with name, email, city and organization will be requested).
