2.How to make a research data management plan and publish on DataRepositoriUM
Programme
The presentation of a coherent and reliable data management plan has become an essential requirement for science funding agencies, whether for doctoral, post-doctoral or collective projects. What data will be collected and produced during the research? How will this collection be carried out? How to ensure secure data storage during investigation? And what happens to the data after the project is complete? The organization and preservation of data are fundamental to good scientific practices.
In this session, we will learn how to design an effective data management plan using institutional forms and how to publish to DataRepositoriUM. Join us to acquire the skills you need to ensure the integrity and visibility of your scientific data!

3. Zotero Essential: Organization and Management of Bibliographic References
Programme
Nowadays, it no longer makes sense to create our footnotes and bibliographic lists manually. With the various digital tools available, Zotero stands out as free software with numerous features. In addition to automatically generating citations, it allows you to store searches carried out on the web and share bibliographic lists with colleagues.
This training is aimed at Lab2PT researchers and students who want to learn how to organize their bibliographic sources effectively. Throughout the course, we will explore how to automate citation creation and generate bibliographies in various formats. At the end of the training, participants will be able to manage and retrieve references efficiently, thus optimizing their academic and research work.

5. Workshop “Graphic Republics: Visual Communication and Political Propaganda in the context of Revolutionary Socialism in Portugal and the Palop
Programme
At a time when political communication and propaganda are increasingly formulated by advertising companies without ideological or political criteria, the aim is to rescue the visual, cultural, artistic and discursive dimension of revolutionary socialism in the final phase of the Cold War . During the workshop we will try to understand the strategies, languages and references of the fight for ideas, fought in Portugal and the PALOP, — between the outbreak of the independence struggle and the implosion of the USSR.
Drawing on interdisciplinary research that crosses history, design, visual arts, communication and sociology, participants will be invited to investigate the discursive, visual and symbolic strategies employed by political and liberation movements.
The approach adopted will analyze socialist propaganda campaigns, their visual material — photographs, signs and modes of communication, considering how these elements were shaped and transformed according to their target audiences and historical contexts. Special attention will be paid to the impact of significant revolutions, such as the Chinese Revolution (1949), the Cuban Revolution (1959), and the African Revolution (1957-1975) and the role they played in redefining socialist aesthetics and communication, breaking with Soviet hegemony.
The “Graphic Republics” workshop is part of the research project “Images and things: agitation and propaganda in times of cold war and African revolution – Portugal and the PALOP (1961-1991/1996)”. responsible research team, Fátima Moura Ferreira (Lab2PT-In2Past/UM) and Bruno Madeira (CITCEM/Lab2PT-In2Past/UM), also including Francisco Mendes (Lab2PT-In2Past), Susana Gaudêncio (Lab2PT-In2Past) and three scholarship students from the 2nd year of the Master’s in History (ICS), Adriana Esteves, Libânia Pinto and Lucas Frucci.

6. “Astrakan 79” screening session and conversation with director Catarina Mourão
Programme
Screening of the film “Astrakan 79” by director Catarina Mourão and conversation with the author moderated by Bruno Madeira.
About the film:
Martim remembers today, at age 58, his one and a half year stay in the Soviet Union in 1979. He was 15 years old and an “innocent” boy. His parents, Communist Party members, thought he was going to a safe place, a society that fulfilled all their ideals. Martim traveled to Moscow, crossed the Volga Delta to Astrakan by train on an initiatory journey. He fell in love several times, dropped out of school, and went underground. The communist ideal instilled by his parents was lost along the way. Forty years later, Martim decides, in this film, to tell this story to his son for the first time, a story that has always been a family taboo.
This event is part of the research project “Images and things: agitation and propaganda in times of cold war and African revolution – Portugal and the PALOP (1961-1991/1996)”. “Agit prop” has as its responsible research team Fátima Moura Ferreira (Lab2PT-In2Past/UM) and Bruno Madeira (CITCEM/Lab2PT-In2Past/UM), with Francisco Mendes (Lab2PT-In2Past), Susana Gaudêncio (Lab2PT- In2Past) and three scholarship students from the 2nd year of the Master’s in History (ICS), Adriana Esteves, Libânia Pinto and Lucas Frucci
