“We don’t really know what it means to live in conditions of emptiness, what it means to move on with life when the world around us is emptying out,” says Dace Dzenovska, a socio-cultural anthropologist, associate professor of anthropology of migration at the University of Oxford, and principal investigator of the Emptiness project, which studies towns and villages in Eastern Europe and Russia.
Winner of an ERC Consolidator Grant, Dace Dzenovska is the guest speaker at the 4th National Meeting of Researchers of the Associated Laboratory IN2PAST, which will take place on February 1st and 2nd at NOVA FCSH, Av. of Bern, in Lisbon. “The Place and Space of Emptiness: Experiments in Ethnographic Comparison” is the title of his lecture, scheduled for the 1st, at 5:15 pm, in Auditorium B1 (Tower B).
Free admission.
