PERFORMANCE
Carla Cruz and Cláudia Lopes, Performance “11 Horas a Desenhar” (after Túlia Saldanha and Robert Schad)
September 7, 11 hours drawing (1 pm to midnight)
Carla Cruz and Cláudia Lopes in this action start from the same premise that Túlia Saldanha and Robert Schad started in the 1980s: an interval of time, a technique of expression – drawing – and the openness to the encounter with the unknown – the public. What happens next is both uncertain and exciting, and will certainly reveal new approaches to the artistic process and relationship with the public in these artists’ collaborative practice.
Since 2020, Carla Cruz & Cláudia Lopes have developed joint reflections that focus on issues such as: natural, constructed, transformed and fictional landscapes, crossed, post-human temporalities, ends of the world and other speculative prefigurations. His explorations are simultaneously plastic and conceptual. In a mutual interest in moldable and organic materials, in non-urban territories, and intuitive tactics of artistic creation.
