The scientific poster entitled Contribution of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to the Promotion of Urban Resilience and Tourism Activity in Porto (Portugal), authored by Inácio Filipe Ribeiro, and Professors from the Department of Geography and members of Lab2PT/IN2PAST, Hélder Lopes and Paula Remoaldo, was awarded the 1st Best Scientific Poster Award at the XIX International Conference on Major Issues in the European Space, held between June 17-21, 2025 at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

 

The award-winning work highlights the role of Nature-Based Solutions in promoting urban resilience and the sustainability of tourism activity in the municipality of Porto and is the result of the research project NATURBAN-Norte: Promoting Climate Resilience and Sustainability in Urban Tourist Destinations through Nature-Based Solutions, in which Inácio Filipe Ribeiro participated as a research fellow.
