The seminar “Public Health in Portugal: Past, Present and Future”, promoted by the Portuguese Social Prophylaxis League, takes place on November 27th, at Casa do Infante, from 9:30 am. This event is part of the LPPS centenary celebrations, a date intended to mark 100 years of dedication to promoting the health and well-being of the Portuguese population.
Since its foundation, LPPS has played a fundamental role in the evolution of public health in Portugal, contributing to the implementation of policies and practices that aim to improve citizens’ quality of life. Over the course of a century, the institution has become a reference in the fight for public health, adapting to new realities and emerging challenges.
The main objective of this event will be to provide a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of public health in Portugal, delving into the historical challenges that shaped the system to its current situation, focusing on the challenges faced in the contemporary context. Furthermore, future perspectives will be discussed, as well as the strategies needed to face new global demands. In this sense, the aim is to create a space for reflection and sharing of knowledge, bringing together experts and researchers from different areas who can contribute with diverse and complementary perspectives, with a view to creating a multidisciplinary dialogue.
The seminar features the participation of several Lab2PT researchers.
