The open lecture series “Practices in Public History” consists of a total of five conferences that will take place between March and May 2024, in collaboration with the Laboratory of History seminar of the Master in History at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. The sessions will be led by guests with diverse backgrounds in the field of historical knowledge transfer, who have been developing practices in Public History and/or Citizen Science.
The cycle is organized and supported by the History Department, in collaboration with Lab2PT/IN2Past, under the responsibility of Joana Sequeira and Francisco Azevedo Mendes.
The first session, entitled “The role of the historian via streaming and Public History,” will feature the participation of Roger Lee de Jesus, a researcher at Leibniz Universität Hannover and the Center for the History of Society and Culture at the University of Coimbra, who is also one of the authors of the podcast “Falando de História.” It will take place on March 7, 2024, in the Laboratory of History room at the Institute of Social Sciences (University of Minho, Campus de Gualtar) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
