Project Title

Heritage within the Community’s Reach Through the Use of New Technologies: The Vila Verde House of Knowledge

Abstract

The main objective of the research project is to understand the benefits of using new technologies applied to cultural heritage in order to foster community engagement and, consequently, safeguard, communicate, share, enhance, and create memory on a national scale. In this context, a process of inventorying, characterizing, and disseminating the cultural heritage of the municipality of Vila Verde, located in the district of Braga, will be developed using new technologies and the existing resources of the Casa do Conhecimento de Vila Verde. This will result in the creation of a digital archive, an interactive cultural map of best practices, a heritage itinerary of Vila Verde, workshops, and a final physical and virtual exhibition of the project.
