Project Title
Additive Manufacturing with Earth in Architecture: Computational Methodology for defining shell envelope system
Abstract
This research wants to prove that computational and digital design tools and manufacturing (3Dprinting) can be used for achieving more affordable and sustainable building envelope systems. The main objective of this study is to explore Additive Manufacturing methodologies for printing complex self supported architectural components morphologies as domes , vaults and shells using earthen material with Digital simulations and physical tests to be conducted for estimating the structural and functional performance to assure a safe and comfortable interior environment. Evolving and exploring support less complex geometries with better space quality , indoor environment with minimum economic cost and environmental impact.
