Luso-Brazilian Summer School on Material Culture and Heritage Education
The Luso-Brazilian Summer School on material culture and heritage education is aimed at undergraduate, master’s or doctoral students in the areas of Archaeology, History, Cultural Heritage and Education, at national or international level.
The program includes three thematic sessions, spread over different days, in which interdisciplinary approaches to material culture, heritage education and museum practices are explored.
Educational projects will be discussed, as well as scientific dissemination strategies and the role of digital technologies in the appreciation of heritage.
The team of speakers includes experts from Portuguese and Brazilian institutions, including Fátima Pereira (Biscainhos Museum), Dhemy de Brito (University of Minho), Leandro Barbosa (SEMED CG MS/ATRIVM – Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul), Francisca Cardoso (NOVA FCSH), Zelia Rodrigues (NOVA FCSH), Alexandra Esteves (University of Minho), Cristina de Souza Agostini (ATRIVM – Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul), Ana Carolina Guimarães, Glória Solé (University of Minho) and Carlos Campos (ATRIVM – Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul / CNPQ).

In parallel with the scientific program, the educational project “Living Heritage for Children” will take place between July 18, 24, 25 and 29, promoted in collaboration between Portuguese and Brazilian researchers.
This activity will take place at the Cabanelas Elementary School, the Alto da Cividade Roman Theater and the Casa do Conhecimento of Vila Verde, involving school and local communities in actively raising awareness about heritage.
