Conference "Martyrdom, Memory, and Resistance in Roman Africa: The Persecution of the Donatists under Constans (346-348)"
The conference “Martyrdom, Memory, and Resistance in Roman Africa: The Persecution of the Donatists under Constans (346-348)”, will be given by Professor Gilvan Ventura da Silva, as part of the project entitled “History and Archaeology in Ancient Africa: New Historiographical Perspectives from Excavations in the Maghreb and the Sahara,” of which he is a researcher.
Dr. Gilvan Ventura da Silva is a Full Professor of Ancient History at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), a member of several research groups (CNPq), and has served as a scientific advisor to the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) since 2004.
This conference is organized and supported by the Archaeology Unit and the History Department of the ICS, in collaboration with Lab2PT/IN2PAST, under the coordination of Maria do Carmo Ribeiro and Fernanda Magalhães.
