The 3rd Rock Art Conference – In Time and Space will take place on 13 October, starting at 2 pm. This initiative is dedicated to commemorating European Rock Art Day (9 October) and to raising awareness of and reflecting on our rock art heritage.
Throughout the afternoon of 13 October, the event aims to bring together researchers, experts, heritage professionals and members of the public with an interest in the subject, providing a space for sharing knowledge and discussing rock art, its various forms and the challenges associated with its study and interpretation, whilst also focusing on its preservation and promotion.

Under the theme In Time and Space, this third edition offers a journey through different territories, seeking to highlight the diversity of rock art manifestations and the many ways of viewing them.
The 3rd Rock Art Symposium thus aims to help bring rock art heritage closer to the community, emphasising the importance of its study, preservation and promotion as a fundamental testament to the relationship between human societies and the landscape over time.

The event will take place at the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum, and the organisers are supported by the Archaeology Unit of the University of Minho, the Department of History at the University of Minho and the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum.
