The IN2PAST National Researchers Meetings aim to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and dialogue between preservation practices, knowledge and the configuration of the past, constituting the forum of reference and excellence for sharing research developed within the scope of the five thematic lines (LT) of the Associated Laboratory:

LT1 | Science and Technology for Cultural Heritage
LT2 | Landscape, Territories and Cultural Heritage
LT3 | Museums, Monuments and their Collections
LT4 | Archives, from Preventive Preservation to Digitization
LT5 | Cultural Circulations, Public Memory Policies and Inclusive Citizenship

 

It is also the privileged space for the construction of new forms of research and innovation, as well as for the enhancement of knowledge and collaborations between the researchers that are part of IN2PAST, from its seven research and development units (UID).

 

The 5th National Meeting of IN2PAST Researchers is designed according to this matrix and with the purpose of contributing to the consolidation of the identity of the Associated Laboratory (LA), as reflected in its programmatic agenda:

 

January 22 | 5 pm

Public session led by the LT coordinators with representatives of national and regional institutions of reference in the fields of Heritage, Arts and Culture

 

January 23 and 24 | 9 am – 7 pm

Plenary Communication Sessions* + Poster Presentation + Meeting of the IN2PAST Scientific Council, with all integrated researchers/doctorates of the LA

*there will be no parallel communication sessions

 

January 25 | 10am – 4pm

Visit to Extremo (Arcos de Valdevez) and community lunch, as part of the IN2PAST 2024/2025 Field Trips programme

 

We invite integrated researchers with PhDs and PhD students from the seven UIDs that make up IN2PAST – CESEM, CHAIA, CRIA, HERCULES, IHC, IHA and Lab2PT – to submit individual or collective communication proposals and/or posters relating to ongoing research projects that fall within the scope and objectives of one or more of the aforementioned IN2PAST thematic lines, which can be consulted at https://in2past.org/thematic-lines/.

 

The proposal for a paper or poster should include the following items:

• Name(s) and surname(s) of the Author(s)
• Institutional affiliation (UID + University or Organic Unit)
• If the person is an integrated researcher/doctorate or doctoral student
• Brief CV (max. 100 words)
• Title of the paper/presentation
• Abstract of the paper/presentation (max. 200 words)
• Indication of the IN2PAST LT(s) with which the proposal is related

Oral presentations at the Meeting are in person. Authors of approved posters must also be researchers participating in the Meeting. There will be no online participation/interventions or possibility of attendance via Zoom.

The call for proposals and the agenda for the Plenary Meeting of the IN2PAST Scientific Council will be sent in due time to all integrated/PhD researchers.

IN2PAST will cover the travel and accommodation costs of its researchers who participate in the 5th Meeting and are not affiliated with the University of Minho.
