6th IN2PAST National Meeting
September 17-19, 2026 | NOVA University of Lisbon, Lisbon (Almada Negreiros College)
The IN2PAST National Researcher Meetings are already a consolidated landmark of this Associated Laboratory, promoting the sharing and discussion of research developed in its five thematic lines.
These annual meetings have been reinforcing the articulation between different perspectives on the preservation, knowledge and configuration of the past, its insertion in territories and its relationship with public policies, constituting a central space for interdisciplinary dialogue between researchers from the various research units that make up IN2PAST.
The 6th IN2PAST National Meeting, to be held in September 2026, is once again marked by the transversality between research lines and by a more inclusive plenary participation, consolidating the collaborative and integrative model introduced previously. Thus, this edition aims to strengthen collaboration dynamics, stimulate interdisciplinary approaches, and enhance the collective construction of knowledge within the IN2PAST community.
PROGRAMME
September 17th | 9 am – 7 pm
Visit / Field Trip (with doctoral students participating in the In2Future Boot Camp 2026) + Meeting of Thematic Lines
September 18th and 19th | 9 am – 7 pm
Plenary Communication Sessions* + Poster Presentations + IN2PAST Scientific Council Meeting, where all integrated researchers/PhD holders of IN2PAST are represented.
*There will be no parallel communication sessions.
We invite integrated researchers/PhD holders and doctoral candidates from the seven research units (UID) that constitute IN2PAST – CESEM, CHAIA, CRIA, HERCULES, IHC, IHA, and Lab2PT – to submit individual or collective poster proposals related to ongoing research projects that fall within the scope and objectives of one or more of the IN2PAST thematic lines mentioned above, which can be consulted at https://in2past.org/thematic-lines/.
The poster proposal should include the following items:
• Author(s) first and last name(s)
• Institutional affiliation (UID + University or Organic Unit)
• Whether the author is an integrated researcher/doctoral student or doctoral candidate
• Brief CV of the Author(s) (max. 100 words)
• Poster title
• Poster abstract (max. 200 words)
• Indication of the IN2PAST LT(s) with which the proposal relates
The requested elements are exclusively for the scientific evaluation of the proposal, not implying a rigid graphic model, encouraging approaches that value the poster as a visual and conceptual communication device, with synthetic solutions and a strong image component.
Poster proposals should be submitted through this form.
Requests for information/clarification should be sent to the email address comunica@in2past.org.
Each session of the scientific meeting will have two moderators and two presenters from different research lines or research units, also including six participants from distinct areas, in order to ensure an interdisciplinary approach.
Posters will be distributed among the thematic sessions according to their affinity, displayed on paper in a common space and presented in each session in a “flash presentation” format.
The structure of each session includes an introduction and presentation of the posters, followed by a debate around three transversal questions, the discussion of specific issues and, finally, a broad debate with all researchers and the public, promoting the exchange of ideas and scientific dialogue.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Submission of proposals: until June 7th
Communication of results: June 15th
Registration (with or without poster): July 15th
Note: the costs related to travel and accommodation for researchers participating in the 6th Meeting who are not affiliated with NOVA University Lisbon or ISCTE will be covered by IN2PAST.
