On September 18th and 25th, 2026, the “Congress of Holy Houses of Portugal and Brazil: Mercies, Memory and Heritage” will take place, an initiative that brings together Portuguese and Brazilian specialists to promote reflection on the preservation of the archives of the Holy Houses. The congress proposes an analysis of the different expressions of heritage, encompassing the archival, museological and oral domains, and highlights the contribution of the Mercies to the conservation of fundamental historical sources for understanding their institutional trajectories and their social and cultural legacy.
