INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Heritage with Gender: experiences and materialities through a new perspective
Researchers from Galicia and Portugal will meet on 6 March to give visibility to women and open new ways of interpreting history and heritage. The D. Diogo de Sousa Museum of Archaeology, Lab2PT, the Archaeology Unit of the University of Minho and the University of Santiago de Compostela are organising the international conference “Heritage with Gender: experiences and materialities through a new perspective”, an initiative associated with the celebration of International Women’s Day. The conference will begin in the morning with conference sessions and will conclude on afternoon with a final debate.
The meeting will bring together national and international researchers specialising in archaeology, history and gender studies. The event aims to foster reflection and dialogue on the role of gender perspectives in historical and archaeological research, as well as in the construction, interpretation and dissemination of heritage.
The conference is jointly organised by the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum of Archaeology and the Coidarq project, funded through the Xunta de Galicia Postdoctoral Grants and integrated into CISPAC – the Interuniversity Research Centre for Atlantic Cultural Landscapes of the University of Santiago de Compostela, with the support of the Archaeology Unit of the University of Minho and Lab2PT/IN2PAST.
