Cávado Cultural Conference
The Interpretive Center for Ceramic Crafts will host the first Cávado Cultural Days on April 11, 2026.
This event coincides with the 180th anniversary of the invasion of the Prado City Hall building, which now houses the Interpretive Center, a significant episode of the Maria da Fonte Revolt with a major impact on subsequent events. Therefore, it aims to explore various themes related to History, Literature, Ethnography, and other important aspects of the cultural heritage that characterizes the region.
The program includes presentations by specialists in various fields, who will discuss the Maria da Fonte Revolt, Camilo Castelo Branco, Dom João de Castro, the Camino de Santiago, pottery, and Vinho Verde.
In addition to the presentations, the program offers a themed lunch featuring Cávado flavors, dedicated to promoting the region’s gastronomy. It will also be an opportunity to open exhibitions and pay homage to the Prado-born writer Dom João de Castro. These workshops are accredited by the Alto Cávado Training Center and are open to all who wish to participate.
Registration is mandatory, made HERE, and limited to the auditorium’s capacity, and free of charge, with a fee only for lunch, which is optional and costs 30 euros. Registration can be done online or through the contacts of the Ceramic Craft Interpretation Center.
This is an initiative of the Vila Verde Municipal Council, through the Culture and Tourism Unit.
