The Aldeia do Xisto village of Aldeia das Dez, Oliveira do Hospital, celebrates traditional knowledge related to weaving by holding the 1st International Meeting of Weaving and Other Arts.

 

Taking place between June 6th and 11th, the initiative includes lectures, practical workshops, exhibitions of works and musical moments, bringing together artisans, artists, researchers and the general public, in an environment of sharing, creation and appreciation of local and international culture.

 

Participation is free, however, registration is required for the workshops.

On June 6, 7 and 8, visitors can learn about the work of the O Genuíno Cobertor de Papa Association, from Maçainhas, in the municipality of Guarda, at Casa do S. They can also walk along the town’s main street to admire the ribbon blankets produced by local artisans.
