Minicourse "The Garamantes of Fezã: Stigma, Trans-Saharan Trade, and the Foggara State in the Sahara (9th Century BC - 6th Century AD)"
On October 17, a 4-hour mini-course will be held for undergraduate and graduate students of History and Archaeology. The course will be titled “The Garamantes of Fezzan: Stigma, Trans-Saharan Trade, and the Foggara State in the Sahara (9th Century BC – 6th Century AD)”, given by Professor Belchior Monteiros Lima Neto, PhD, as part of the project entitled “History and Archaeology in Ancient Africa: New Historiographical Perspectives Based on Excavations in the Maghreb and the Sahara,” of which he is a researcher.
Professor Belchior Monteiros Lima Neto is an Adjunct Professor of Ancient History at the Federal University of Espírito Santo and Associate Professor at the Laboratory for Studies on the Roman Empire, Espírito Santo Section (LEIR/ES).
This mini-course is organized and supported by the Archaeology Unit and the History Department, in collaboration with Lab2PT/IN2PAST, under the coordination of Maria do Carmo Ribeiro and Fernanda Magalhães.
