This ATPD project corresponds to an academy for young university students that takes place in Trás-os-Montes, on the theme of Human Rights in all its fullness. It is a mixed school model of research, sharing, work and learning for students, towards the production and dissemination of knowledge on issues related to Human Rights to formulate recommendations for action for the future, boosting the Trás-os-Montes territories.
The second edition, called “A Vila que Sabe Envelhecer” will take place between the 9th and 15th of September, in the village of Samões, Vila Flor.
The main objectives are: to develop a diagnosis of the social and housing conditions of the village’s older residents; suggest adaptation measures for identified housing; promote dynamics and sharing about aging and human rights and promote contact and dissemination of existing support solutions.
This edition is aimed at Master’s degree students from anywhere in the country, in the areas of Sociology, Psychology, Social Education, Design or Architecture. There will also be vacancies for University students residing in the municipality of Vila Flor.
This edition has the scientific coordination of Professor Cristina Parente from the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP) and Professor Bernardo Providência from the Laboratory of Landscapes, Heritage and Territory of the University of Minho. The initiative has the support of IS-UP, the Vila Flor City Council and the Samões Parish Council.
