The PhD candidate in Modern History at Lab2PT/University of Minho, Anabela Ramos, recently published the book “Atlas of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Paredes”.
The book is a precise record of the traditions, knowledge, and cultural practices that shape the identity of the municipality of Paredes. Organized by Anabela Ramos, this volume covers food customs, traditional arts, festivals and pilgrimages, oral expressions, and the collective memory of the people of Paredes. From generation to generation, stories of cornbread, lupin beans, straw chairs, legends, and folk songs intertwine. More than an inventory, the Atlas celebrates a living heritage, essential for understanding the past and projecting the cultural future of the territory.
The book also benefited from the collaboration of Carla Xavier and Mariana Barros.
