Andreia Garcia is part of the selection group for the Official Portuguese Representation at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2027

Andreia Garcia, director of the PhD in Architecture, professor at the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the University of Minho and integrated researcher of Lab2PT/IN2PAST, is part of the working group responsible for the preliminary selection of the Official Portuguese Representation at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia, which will take place in 2027.
The working group is formed by Andreia Garcia, Álvaro Domingues, João Gomes da Silva, Mariana Pestana and Tânia Teixeira and The committee will be responsible for selecting three proposals, which will subsequently be invited to participate in the second phase of the procedure.
The 2027 Venice Architecture Biennale will be directed by architects Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu, under the theme Do Architecture — For the Possibility of Coexistence Facing a Real Reality.
The call for proposals is open until July 21, 2026.
Andreia Garcia was the curator of the 18th edition of the International Architecture Exhibition, entitled Fertile Futures.
