On 10 October, the Pazo de San Tomé in Mondoñedo will host the international colloquium “Coidar o Rural”, dedicated to the importance of women in rural communities in the north-western Iberian Peninsula. The event aims to foster reflection and dialogue on the fundamental role of women in shaping, sustaining, and transforming the rural world.
The project “Axencia feminina, coidados e memoria”, focused on San Vicente de Trigás, will be presented alongside a video documentary bringing together voices, memories, and findings from archaeological and ethnographic research.
This will be followed by a roundtable with Rebeca Blanco-Rotea and Marga Fernández Mier on female agency, resource management, labour, domestic spaces, landscapes, and communities. The event will conclude with a guided walk through San Vicente de Trigás, connecting memory, materiality, territory, and landscape.
