Documentary "A festa do emigrante" | Direction: Sara Traba and Scientific direction and production: Rebeca Blanco-Rotea

Since yesterday is available on YouTube the documentary ‘A festa do emigrante’ by Sara Traba (2021), produced under the scientific direction of Rebeca Blanco-Rotea, thanks to a support grant for postdoctoral training stage of the Sistema de I+D+i galego (Modalidad B, Convocatoria 2019), project Landscape and Change Architectures (LARCH) (No. Exp. ED481D 2019/026).
The documentary had the collaboration of the Junta da Freguesia de Portela-Extremo, the câmara de Arcos de Valdevez and the Unidade de Arqueologia da Universidade do Minho. ‘A festa do emigrante’ was filmed in Extremo, an old Portuguese parish in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, district of Viana do Castelo, a place that is claimed as a cultural heritage linked to the materiality of a war that was essential in the construction of the Portuguese identity. The documentary talks to the neighbours and the archaeologists who participated in the project.
