Researcher Mikel Larrinaga Ortiz, from the University of the Basque Country, is undertaking a two-year postdoctoral research stay at Lab2PT.

His project is entitled The Treatment of Poverty from Political Economy: Basque-Navarrese Asylums through Social Actors (1700-1850), which aims to broaden knowledge about the set of social and economic changes that, supported by the principles of political economy and driven by certain social sectors, had a growing impact, especially from the second half of the 18th century. In this sense, the study of asylums is proposed as a point of special interest for the further study of these processes.

His research stay, supervised by Professor Marta Lobo, ends in February of next year.
