Researcher Walace Rodrigues, from the Federal University of Fluminense, begins a three-month research fellowship at Lab2PT on 24 November.

Supervised by Professor Jorge Correia, his project is entitled “Pedagogical Guide to the Manueline Style Through Images”, and explores the origins and development of the Manueline artistic movement, based on the hypothesis that the Manueline style manifests itself through multiple regional typologies across Portugal. Her methodology is based on an iconographic and documentary survey of the monuments, with the aim of transferring this knowledge to the Brazilian academic sphere through the publication of an illustrated educational and scientific book, integrating local historical narratives with the enduring aesthetic appeal of the style in Luso-Brazilian architecture.
