Professor Hélder Silva Lopes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, ICS, UMinho, and integrated researcher at Lab2PT/IN2PAST, has participated in several national and regional media outlets in recent weeks to analyze and discuss the effects of climate change on Portuguese territory, with particular emphasis on the intensification of heat waves, their impacts on public health, thermal comfort, and ecosystems.

In this context, the relevance of territorial and landscape planning and management instruments was also discussed.
