As part of the Interreg Spain-Portugal project ‘More Sustainable Gerês-Xurés’, the Ourense Provincial Council and the institution “Gerês-Xurés. Transboundary Biosphere Reserve” are organising the meeting Arqueoxurés. Places that speak: a journey into the past, where researchers from Lab2PT/IN2PAST will speak on the following topics:

Helena Paula Carvalho: “The Roman Geira – Terras de Bouro – and the CulturMonts project”

Rebeca Blanco-Rotea: “Excavating the landscape of Extremo (Arcos de Valdevez): between fortifications and farmland”

At this meeting, they will present the work that has been carried out in the Peneda-Gerês area, based on different projects participated in or led by Lab2PT, such as Interreg Sudoe CulturMonts (coordinated at the University of Minho by researcher Helena P. Carvalho), currently in progress, or the exploratory project of IN2PAST Land-CST (IR Rebeca Blanco-Rotea), completed in 2024.
