On October 1, 2025, researcher Celtia Rodríguez González joined UMinho for a one-year research stay.
Celtia received a grant from the Xunta de Galicia R&D&I system as a Postdoctoral Researcher, awarded to the Interuniversity Research Center for Atlantic Cultural Landscapes (CISPAC) and the SINCRISIS Research Group at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The grant provides for a two-year international stay, the first at the Ausonius Institute (UMR 5607), Université Bordeaux-Montaigne, and the second at Lab2PT and UAUM, under the supervision of researcher Rebeca Blanco-Rotea.
Her project, entitled “COIDARQ. Care, Materialities, and Spaces: Research into Early Medieval Rural Societies in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula”, investigates early medieval rural societies in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula from a gender perspective, addressing aspects related to daily life and domestic production. The ultimate goal of this research is to establish a historical-social framework about the people who lived, in the 5th and 11th centuries, in the territory known as Gallaecia, based on the study of archaeological material.
