Liliana Neves wins the VII Premio de Investigación sobre o Camiño de Santiago e das Peregrinacións - 2024 with her doctoral thesis

Liliana Andreia Valente Neves, PhD in History from the University of Minho, specializing in Modern History and collaborating researcher at Lab2PT/IN2PAST was the winner of the VII Premio de Investigación Sobre O Camño de Santiago e das Peregrinacións – 2024 for her doctoral thesis “Caminhos that intersect. Assistance to pilgrims and travelers in the North of Portugal: the Misericórdias (17th and 18th centuries)”, defended at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, in December 2023.
The prize, awarded by the Cátedra do Camiño de Santiago e das Peregrinacións at the University of Santiago de Compostela, annually distinguishes the best work in the competition presented in this scientific area.
This is an important international recognition of the work carried out by the researcher throughout her doctorate, as well as the innovative contributions made by this work to a greater knowledge of pilgrimages and travel in the modern period.
