On Sunday 28 June 2026, the third season of the documentary series “Portuguese Soul”, presented by Gisela João, premiered on RTP2.
The documentary series explores the future of materials in the fashion industry, featuring the participation of Lab2PT/IN2PAST doctoral student Luís Gonçalves Ferreira. His historiographical contribution enables a discussion of the evolution and future of raw materials such as biomaterials, leather, rubber and marine resources. Over the course of four episodes, broadcast during Sunday prime time, the series explores the convergence of ancient knowledge and technological innovation.
The series, produced by Brigther Films for APICAPPS and RTP, reaffirms sustainability as an essential pillar, demonstrating that there is no future for either the industry or fashion without respect for our roots, the environment and the social history of materials.
