Ninth Working Meeting of the Cultur-Monts Project | Closing Meeting, in Portugal

The ninth and final in-person meeting of the Interreg Sudoe Cultur-Monts project – Valorization of Mountain Cultural Landscapes: a resource for sustainable territorial development – will take place in Portugal, between November 9 and 12, 2026.
The Portuguese teams, coordinated by Helena Carvalho (UAUM | Lab2PT/In2PAST) and Sónia Almeida (ADERE-PG), will welcome the other beneficiaries of the consortium at the Convent of São Francisco, facilities of the Archaeology Unit of the University of Minho, in Braga.
The work program will focus on the presentation and discussion of the results of the different pilot actions developed by the three working groups, the final definition of a joint strategy, and the analysis of the new call to Interreg Sudoe for the valorization of the results, as well as the identification of opportunities to continue the initiatives conducted by Cultur-Monts. A session dedicated to the technical, administrative, and financial closure of the project is also planned.
In addition to the formal closure of the project, the meeting aims to consolidate a shared vision on the role that mountain cultural landscapes can play as strategic resources for the sustainable development of territories and for the creation of new future opportunities for the communities that live in them.
Delegations from ICAC-CERCA, the main beneficiary of the project, INCIPIT, the University of Oviedo, MSH – Université Clermont-Auvergne, and IADT will be present at this meeting.
