Within the framework of the III Ibero-American Congress of Social Studies on Armed Conflicts (CIESCA III 2026), Lab2PT/IN2PAST/UMinho researchers Rebeca Blanco-Rotea, Tiago Rodrigues, and João Cabeleira are organizing Session 13, “Landscapes of historical conflicts. Materiality, memory, and representation in the context of border warfare,” which proposes an interdisciplinary reflection on the relationship between war, border, materiality, memory, and landscape.

 

Lab2PT is also participating with two presentations at the Congress:

– “Fluctuating Borders: Conquest, Foundation and Portuguese Military Landscape in the Maghreb”, by Jorge Correia

– “Reading the Border. The Materialities and Silences of the Defensive Complex of As Torres (Tomiño, Pontevedra, Spain)”, by Rebeca Blanco-Rotea, Diego Machado, Tiago Rodrigues, Xurxo Salgado, Celtia Rodríguez and Francisco Andrade.
