Jorge Ribeiro's participation in the 3rd IRAAR Conference “Quarries and rock-cut sites through the lens of archaeology”

Jorge Ribeiro, integrated researcher at Lab2PT/IN2PAST and Assistant Professor at the Department of History at UMinho, participated, between May 14th and 15th, in the 3rd IAAR Conference “Quarries and rock-cut sites through the lens of archaeology”.
This meeting, organized by the IAAR group at the University of Edinburgh (UK), explored the multifaceted relationships between humans and stone through an archaeological perspective on quarrying, architecture and rock-cut sites, as well as rock art.
The event also sought to promote an interdisciplinary dialogue on the transformation of rock landscapes over time and space.
The presentation “The study of the granite quarries of Via Nova, Terras de Bouro – North of Portugal: archaeology and geoarchaeology” was co-authored by several members of the research teams from the BracaViae and CulturMonts projects.
