In October, the book “Paysages de deux finistères européens. Bretagne–Galice”, edited by Christine Rivalan Guégo and published by Presses Universitaires de Rennes, will be released.

 

The volume offers a comparative perspective on the landscapes of Brittany and Galicia, bringing together researchers from different fields through a transdisciplinary and diachronic approach. It seeks to move beyond stereotypical representations of these two regions by exploring the relationships between landscape, identity, culture, regional policies, and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.

Researcher Rebeca Blanco-Rotea contributes the chapter “Le paysage fortifié de la frontière sud de la Galice à l’époque moderne et son interprétation du point de vue de l’archéologie comme élément patrimonial”, focusing on the construction and heritagization of the fortified landscape along the Galician-Portuguese border during the Early Modern period.
