In 1976, Braga experienced a historic moment with the holding of the first municipal elections in a democracy. Fifty years later, it is important to preserve the memories of this event and to make known the materials that marked the electoral campaign of the time.

The Braga City Hall, in collaboration with Lab2PT/IN2PAST, is promoting the Political Propaganda in the First Municipal Elections of Braga project and is launching a public call for the collection of posters, pamphlets, photographs, stickers, pins, documents, objects and testimonies related to this important moment in local history.

The Braga Municipal Archive will ensure the registration and digitization of the materials made available, as well as the collection of testimonies from those who wish to share their memories.

If you have materials or memories from this period, participate and contribute to the construction of an exhibition that will be presented to the community at the end of the year.

 

Call for participation: until June 30, 2026.

 

Please make the materials available for registration and digitization at the Braga Municipal Archive (Rua D. Pedro V, nº 1), between 9 am and 12.30 pm and between 2 pm and 5 pm.
