História Global da Economia e Gestão de Portugal

Synopsis: A global history focused on the economy and management of Portugal is a necessary and timely work.

Today it is indisputable that Portugal, at the dawn of Modernity, became one of the first countries to build globalization, deriving enormous economic benefit from this situation. Behind this capacity lies a unique entrepreneurial spirit that has catapulted us onto the world stage, creating particular commercial networks and emporiums that have opened new paths in leadership and management.
This work seeks to systematize much of what can still be considered relevant today regarding what Portugal has contributed to management and its influence on the world economy.

Starting from our current worldview, in which “economization” predominates in global relations and in which management is increasingly relevant to making various human activities efficient, this book proposes a “journey” of knowledge to the different eras and stages of our past, to a time when the religious and the political were dominant in the organization of society and in the construction of horizons of meaning, but in which the economic prevailed in its dependence.
