From October 6th to 9th, the seventh Interreg Cultur-Monts working meeting took place at the French pilot window in Lozère, where the Portuguese Lab2PT team, led by Helena Carvalho, was represented. This meeting marks the conclusion of the field trips to explore the cultural landscapes of each project window.
The conference program, organized by the Institut d’Auvergne du Développement des Territoires (IADT), the host partner, led by Professor Laurent Rieutort and his team, includes working sessions and field trips to explore the tangible and intangible heritage of the Lozère department, the least populated in France, particularly the sites of Javols, Cap Combattut, Le Chastel-Nouvel, Alteyrac, Col de Montmirat, Les Bondons, and Lanuéjols.
The program also includes three internal meetings of the project’s three working groups (WGs), some of which involve local stakeholders, notably the Alteyrac village association. This meeting is strategically important, as it aims to promote a comprehensive review of the project’s implementation status for each WG.

MEETING RESULTS:
The main objective of the initiative was to introduce the cultural landscape of the French pilot window to the various beneficiary partners through a program that combined field trips and technical meetings.
Over the course of four days, several sites representing the region’s geological, historical, and heritage richness were visited. Among the highlights was the visit to the village of Alteyrac, where the teams were warmly welcomed by representatives of the local heritage development association. The accumulated experience of this association constitutes a significant contribution to the development of ongoing work within the project.
The program was also enriched by several working meetings attended by two representatives from the Lozère Departmental Council and one representative from the Causses-Cévennes Interdepartmental Entente. These entities play a fundamental role in the coordination between public policies and territorial dynamics, especially in heritage management and development. Among the main topics discussed were the importance of accumulated local experience, the role of local stakeholders, and the contribution of the various scientific fields represented in the project to the reorganization of rural and heritage spaces—a particularly sensitive issue, given the recent fires that affected several regions of Southwestern Europe.
