The meeting was conceived as a working session of the Portuguese team of the Interreg Sudoe Cultur-Monts Project (University of Minho / Lab2PT), with the aim of reviewing the project’s implementation, analysing the work carried out to date, and adjusting the agenda for the final year of the project, in 2026.
It is structured around three debate sessions. The first session focuses on the progress of the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the conceptual model applied to the road, agricultural and transhumance systems, as well as on their integration into the database and into heritage valorisation strategies. The second session addresses the articulation between oral memory, toponymy and GIS, discussing methodological challenges, data-collection criteria and modes of audiovisual, photographic and textual indexing, with particular attention to the relationship between fieldwork and data structuring. The third session reflects on the relationship between digital cartography, orality and cinematic language, within the framework of the documentaries currently in development (“The Memory of Movement” and “The Memory of Bread”), highlighting the role of videography in community valorisation and interterritorial communication.
The meeting will also include the participation of collaborators external to the project, ensuring a broader contribution to the technical and strategic reflection.
