The Shifting Ruralities Symposium. Reimagining Rural Spaces in Europe, part of the New Ruralities Project (NERU), is currently underway, highlighting the dynamic and evolving nature of European rural spaces in a globalized world.
With participants from various disciplines and backgrounds, from academics to artists to activists, it is a space for sharing and reflecting on the diversity and challenges that rural spaces entail, exploring new possibilities for ecosystem regeneration and cooperation for the benefit of all beings, for a time beyond our civilization.
In addition to the symposium, the NERU project presents three complementary exhibitions:
− IT WAS ALL FIELDS ONCE, an archive that brings together spatial, artistic and research practices with the aim of destabilizing the urban-rural dichotomy.
− ALPEGGIO BOUÇA LISSEWEGE, presenting the projects awarded in the international competition for students and recent graduates.
− IN MEDIA RES, a selection of student works produced over the three years of the project.
