HPIP – Heritage of Portuguese Influence
The University of Minho, through Lab2PT and its researchers Jorge Correia and Elisiário Miranda, has joined the Executive Board of the Heritage of Portuguese Influence (HPIP) portal, which also includes the University of Coimbra, the University of Lisbon, NOVA FCSH, ISCTE, and the University of Évora.
Evolving from the project Heritage of Portuguese Origin in the World: Architecture and Urbanism, under José Mattoso, which the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG) developed between 2007 and 2012, the HPIP portal is now the most comprehensive, accessible, and free virtual compilation of built and urban heritage of Portuguese origin or influence in the world.
Continuously and consistently updated, it fosters interactive dialogues between text—identification, inventory, description, characterization, interpretation—and images—Geographic Information Systems, cartography, and photography.
We hope this integration will catalyze new contributions within the Lab2PT community.
