This year marks the seventh edition of the “Women, Heritage, Society” film series, promoted by the Galician Cultural Council (CCG), with the participation of the University of Minho, the Center for Galician Studies (CEG), the Xunta de Galicia, and, in this edition, the Ponte de Lima City Council.
This event will be held in Ponte de Lima, coinciding with the 900th anniversary celebrations of the Ponte de Lima Charter (1125-2025), with the participation of the filmmakers.
Each session will be followed by a discussion.
On October 3rd, at 10am, the workshop “Me, in my city” will be held at Ponte de Lima Elementary School, António Feijó School Group, with director Tânia Dinis. Twenty 4th-grade P4B students will participate in the workshop, reflecting on the differences that unite us, diversity, empathy, and democracy.
This Galician-Portuguese film series aims to promote cultural exchange between Galicia and Portugal. The first edition took place in Braga (Portugal) in May 2018; the second took place in Vigo (Galicia) in September 2019; the third edition was held in Arcos de Valdevez (Portugal) in October 2021; the fourth edition in Verín, in October 2022, focused on the role of women in the world of death and grief, and had an extension in Salvador da Bahia (Brazil) in November of that year. The fifth edition was held in November of the following year in Guimarães, twinned with the International Congress “Uncertain Landscapes. Beyond Transdisciplinary Approaches,” organized by Lab2PT/IN2PAST (UMinho), under the theme “Cultural Landscapes, Feminine Heritage.” In 2024, for the sixth edition, the chosen venue was Tui. And in 2025, Ponte de Lima will host the seventh edition.
