FROM THE PRE-ROMAN BATHING GROUND TO THE IDOL’S FOUNTAIN
On Saturday, May 23rd, Jorge Ribeiro, researcher at Lab2PT/IN2PAST and Assistant Professor at the Department of History of UMinho, will lead a guided tour of some of the sites that help to understand the transition between the indigenous world and the Roman city of Bracara Augusta, starting at the Pre-Roman Bathing Ground at the Railway Station and ending at the Idol’s Fountain.
The initiative aims to propose a route through the city streets, focusing on some of its most striking vestiges, exploring the architecture, but also its builders and users.
The event is part of the Braga Romana 2026 program.
Organized by: Braga City Council
