Within the framework of the “Fortalezas de Fronteira” project, coordinated by Rebeca Blanco-Rotea (Lab2PT/IN2PAST), a Youth Volunteer Camp of the Xunta de Galicia was held, for the second consecutive year, in which the Universities of Minho and Santiago de Compostela collaborate, as well as a curricular internship integrated into the Master’s in Archeology, of the Department of History of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho.

This project has several objectives: deepen the knowledge about the campanha fortresses that were built along the Minho border during the 17th century and understand the transformations in the fortification of the border between Portugal and Spain over time, as well as heritage education and the socialization of heritage.
It is a community archeology and heritage communication project directed by the areas of Archeology (UMinho) and Communication Sciences (USC).

This project included an intense program parallel to the archaeological intervention, which included visits to the archaeological site, a cycle of lectures and a series of commented itineraries.
The closing takes place between today and tomorrow with three activities:

July 17:

• 8.30 pm, at La Taberna (Tebra) (https://maps.app.goo.gl/1bRqspE1rTgwaLer7) closing lecture on the project and a presentation of “Border Tales”, by Avelino González
