Lab2PT invites all interested parties to participate in the book launch session of the book The Palace of Imagination: Co-creation practices, which will take place on June 13, at 6:00 pm, at the Guimarães Memory House, authored by Cidalia F. Silva, Gabriela Trevisan, Mariana Carvalho, Diana Amaral.

The publication, edited by Lab2PT, documents the action-research project developed in the Emboladoura neighborhood, in Gondar, Guimarães, between 2020 and 2022, called Palace of Imagination, promoted by Fraterna – Community Center for Solidarity and Social Integration and financed by the Healthy Neighborhoods program.

 

The Palace of Imagination portrays the process and result of the community co-creation of a place, imagined and worked with children and young people based on their perspectives, senses and emotions and the socio-spatial processes of recognizing their living space, with the support of several local agents and partner entities.
“By questioning what a palace is, not as an object, but as a process, while maintaining its extraordinary character, the aim was to transform socio-spatial vulnerability into its transformative movement: so that each being (individual) and everyone (collective) can expand their imagination.”

 

The book launch will be a moment of meeting and collective celebration, open to all those interested in co-creation in architecture and community participation.
