“If this house was mine”

Mónica Faria, an integrated researcher at Lab2PT, presents ideas for renovating the Loja Oficina, where Guimarães Embroidery – a certified handcrafted product and symbol of Guimarães identity – will gain new expression and dialogue with contemporary times.

Under the theme “If this house was mine,” the project also proposes to bring embroidery to 21 locations in the city, involving 21 artists and students who will reinterpret its spirit and urban daily life through this art.

The initiative reinforces the sense of community and sharing, connecting tradition and contemporary creation, and affirming embroidery as a living language in constant reinvention.
