Project Title

Active communities in safeguarding Cultural Heritage: the contribution of audiovisual resources and the Ponte da Barca House of Knowledge to the preservation, enhancement and promotion of heritage assets.

Abstract

The main objective of this research project is to document the Cultural Heritage of Ponte da Barca through the use of audiovisual resources and digital technologies available at the municipality's House of Knowledge, with the intention of actively involving local communities in the preservation, appreciation, and promotion of said heritage. The aim is to survey, select, and record audiovisual material from the Cultural Heritage of the municipality of Ponte da Barca, using digital and audiovisual literacy programs within the communities and creating intergenerational dynamics to promote their active involvement in the preservation, appreciation, and promotion of the Cultural Heritage. Using the technologies and resources available at the House of Knowledge in Ponte da Barca, the project will develop documentary audiovisual content, a digital cultural repository of the Cultural Heritage, a digital cultural guide to the Cultural Heritage, and a photography and video exhibition based on the recorded audiovisual content
