Project Title

Digital models and adaptive scenarios for coastal urban contexts: spatial monitoring and decision-making

Abstract

Cities require spatial planning and decision-making models capable of responding to current challenges. In coastal urban contexts, instability and sea-level rise pose problems that require adaptation. By combining three-dimensional digital modelling, sensor-based monitoring and predictive analysis, this research proposes the integration of digital tools and territorial data to develop an operational framework for decision support, using the coastal urban context as a case study. The methodology combines a literature review, the delimitation of the case study, and the development of a digital model integrating territorial, environmental and morphological data, allowing different responses to be tested, simulated and evaluated. The expected contribution is the definition of an operational methodological procedure for producing, testing and comparing adaptive spatial scenarios to support decision-making. The aim is to develop and consolidate a methodological procedure that can be replicated in other case studies.
